UBC strives to be a warm and loving family of faith, and we welcome you to be part of this community in whichever ways are best suited to your needs. We also invite you to get your hands dirty with us, finding ways to use your gifts and passions to serve God and neighbor through this community of faith.
To learn more about any of the opportunities listed below or to discuss how you might become more involved at UBC, please contact Will, our Associate Minister for Community. He’d love to buy you a cup of coffee and discuss this further!
Missions and Ministries
UBC is actively involved in serving our community and supporting efforts around the world. There numerous opportunities for service throughout the year, described in more detail here. Check out our newsletter to read more about efforts currently underway.
We offer a variety of programming for people of all ages. Continue exploring our website for information about nursery and preschool, children, youth, college students, and adults. In addition to these focused activities, we are always seeking to bring all of our generations together through inter-generational fellowship, service, and worship.
Sometimes a large church can be intimidating, and one of the best ways to get involved is to find a smaller group of people who get to know each other more closely. Our Sunday Bible Study classes serve this purpose for many in our congregation, and there are groups in place for every age group. Our Music Ministry program also provides numerous opportunities both for performance and for fellowship. WMU Circles (Woman’s Missionary Union) meet regularly and lead many of our church-wide missions opportunities. Finally, there are numerous groups that arise from within the congregation, such as the “Second Saturday Suppers” for young adults and the Pre-K Playgroup for preschoolers and their parents. Whether you’d like to join an existing group or start a new group of your own, we would love to help you find your community here. Call the Church Office at 434-293-5106 or email Will.
Circle of Caring Teams
“Circle of Caring” is our deacon-led team ministry designed to meet the needs of our members and others associated with UBC. It is also an opportunity for church members to share their gifts, talents and passions with others in the church and in the community. Read more here, and contact the church office (434-293-5106) if you’d like to participate.
Service Teams keep our church going, and we depend on volunteers to fill those roles. Current Service Teams include: Audio, Baptismal, Floral, Health Ministry, Lord’s Supper, Ministerial Relations, Music and Worship, Welcome, and the UBC Work Crew.
If you are interested in formally joining our congregation, we invite you to read more about church membership.
