University students are central to the life and ministry of UBC, and we invite you to join with us in serving God together. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here!
From our “Welcome to UVA Students” reception and luncheon in September to our graduate recognition service in May, student ministry is a way of life at UBC. The academic year is filled with opportunities for study, service, spiritual growth, and fellowship. Our goal is to be an encouraging and supportive community of faith to students during their time at the University.
UBC welcomes all college students in the Charlottesville area to join us for worship each Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. We also invite you to participate in our collegiate Bible Study class on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m.
What happens when God’s kingdom intersects our Charlottesville community? Join us in conversation, worship, and action as we explore how our faith intersects the realities of life in our city. Partnering with local nonprofits, we explore a different topic each month, with worship the final Sunday of the month. We meet each Sunday evening at 5, with a free home-cooked dinner afterward. Read more here.
We periodically provide a free lunch after worship on Sundays, as an opportunity for you to get to know other students and families in our congregation.
A Quiet Place to Study
Each semester, during exam week, University Baptist Church opens its doors to all students, both undergraduate and graduate, as “A Quiet Place to Study.” Hot and cold drinks and light snacks provided. Free Wi-Fi is available, as are classrooms for group study. Rides back to dorms after dark can be arranged upon request.
Church volunteers provide refreshments and greet students at the door. Please call the church office for more information, 293-5106, or email email@example.com.
Jubilate is our church’s auditioned choir for university students. This group performs on the grounds at the university, in our Sunday morning worship services, and in churches throughout Virginia. Each year during Spring break, Jubilate takes a major concert tour and in previous years has traveled to Boston, New York, St. Louis, Orlando, Indianapolis, and Colorado. Last year, Jubilate traveled to New Orleans and helped rehab houses damaged during Hurricane Katrina. For more information on Jubilate, click here.
